JIPIL JUNG’S WORK IS BEING EXHIBITED AT SCIENCE GALLERY MELBOURNE (SUPPLIED)
Blood is the stuff of life coursing through our veins. Once it spills outside of the body though, the sight and smell of blood can make you feel queasy, afraid or disgusted.
There are so many symbolic meanings attributed to blood, along with a huge amount of science. That makes it ideal as the inaugural exhibition of the Science Gallery Melbourne, at the University of Melbourne. Described as part exhibition, part experiment, it features artworks about blood created by a range on international and Australian artists.
Amanda Smith visits Blood: Attract and Repel as it’s being set up along with Rose Hiscock, Director of Science Gallery Melbourne, Ryan Jefferies, Creative Director of the exhibition andartistsOlivier Cotsaftis and Beatrice Haines.
